I am writing this blog post from Barcelona. I teach here systematic courses at a seminar of the CAMA in Spain. The entire purpose htt of this seminar is pragmatic and therefore works in favor of the student. The teacher comes for example to the student, while it is usually the other way around. But that aside. I want to post me focus on a CAMA church in Madrid: Vida y Familia.
I was present at a meeting last week of this church and several students of the seminary have their roots in this group (I taught last week in Madrid). The interesting htt thing is that from this group of many small groups emerged in and around Madrid. The seminar supported by the leaders of these groups to train them: theological and practical at the same time (theological). The study is by them immediately applicable in everyday practice.
It is a good example of a reproducing church. htt The goal is not that the church grows bigger and bigger, but smaller communities originated from the "big" town in different locations. The municipality is looking for people and goes the neighborhood. Between the different communities there is mutual support. There is regular consultation between the leaders. It is possible because coaching experiences can be shared.
It is interesting to see that leaders in Spain take these steps to establish municipalities. After several months to be back in the Netherlands and have talked about church planting, with different people, I see that the availability of financial resources for starting a new "work" an obstacle. Spain is a country with limited resources, due to the economic crisis is even more noticeable. And yet I see these initiatives off the ground. We can learn from them, because with limited resources, there is still a lot of potential. On the other hand, there should be, but especially in evangelical circles (financially) much more in the Netherlands, which is often not perceived as a priority. Hopeful initiatives in Reformed and Protestant circles. Now even the evangelicals ....
