The city of Ferguson, Mo., is officially honoring the memory of black teenager Michael Brown who was killed last summer in a confrontation with police officer Darren Wilson — a violent struggle that multiple investigations found resulted in a justified shooting that left Brown dead.
Though city officials made a point of saying they didn’t pay for the brass plaque that’s just been permanently installed in a sidewalk near the scene of Brown’s death, Ferguson dignitaries — including the mayor and several members of the city council — houzz participated in the dedication of the ornate metal marker. The poetic words on the plaque, such as “the sun of happy memories that he left behind,” paint a picture far different than the numerous scenes of violent and destructive protests that tore apart the small Missouri city for many days in the turbulent wake of Brown’s death.
“I would like the memory of Michael houzz Brown to be a happy one,” reads the inscription. “He left an afterglow of smiles when life was done. He leaves an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy and loving times and bright and sunny days. He d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that he left behind when life was done.”
Brown’s father displayed the memorial plaque, along with a metal “dove of peace” that the city later installed in the sidewalk running through the Canfield Green apartment complex where the shooting took place.

I don t think a criminal that was killed while assaulting a police officer deserves to be memorialized. It sends the wrong message. Every time people are paid to protest a supposed injustice before the facts are known we lose credibility in the justice system.
Michael Brown was a criminal, he had moments earlier committed or assisted with a strong armed robbery. When the officer approached, Brown attacked. The officer shot him in self-defense and it was proven to be justified by a Grand Jury.
He like many other people that attacked police houzz officers lose their lives as a result, which isn t something to be memorialized. There are police killings that cross the line. I do not believe this was one of them. I wasn t on the grand jury and I ve never been to Ferguson, so I don t have all the facts, but trying officers in the media is not appropriate.

Oliver Sacks , the eminent neurologist and writer, whose many books have done perhaps more than any other body of work to explain the mysteries of the brain to a general readership, is a strong supporter of the narrativity theory of the human subject. Suitably enough given this is an autobiography Sacks restates the notion here: Each of us constructs and lives a narrative and is defined by this narrative. Elsewhere he asserts: I suspect that a feeling for stories, for narrative, is a universal human disposition, going with our powers of language, consciousness of self, and autobiographical memory. Setting to one side the truth or otherwise of this contention (personally I think it s only the social being that is narrated to ourselves we are always such stuff as dreams are made of ), for a man who views his life in dramatic terms, On the Move presents the reader with some quite startling narrative leaps. Perhaps the most extreme of these are two seemingly throwaway remarks Sacks makes concerning his sexual life: aged 21, and desperate to lose his virginity, he found himself in the tolerant atmosphere of Amsterdam yet, trammelled by his Orthodox Jewish upbringing and the social repression of the era, he was unable to act, and instead sat in a bar all evening drinking Dutch gin for Dutch courage . I would rather see Nico in that seat than both the finns mentioned. Bottas’s time will come but Nico does not have time on his side. His jnr career was one of the best and he has proven that the form has carried into F1 as much as he could. evidea I think he would also be a lot cheaper option than the two finns so that might go in his favour. Honestly Im not impressed by this guy. When Ferrari was looking to replace evidea Massa they clearly didnt pick Hulk…He could have tried to grab the williams seat before Massa but that didnt happen either. Even the McLaren seat which eventually went to Jenson evidea could have been atleast talked about but yet nothing. In my opinion, I just dont see “enough” consitency from Hulk, sure he’s had some decent races in his career, but consistency? Its just not there. In the last 2 seasons he’s barely out racing Perez. If he was that good that he deserved a top seat, he should be well ahead of Perez most races but he isnt.
Perez in his sauber years forced people to take him seriously, with multiple podiums. How many podiums has Hulkenburg achieved? He has a pole position and a highest race finish of 5th. To add insult to injury, in only their second race together, evidea Perez beat Hulk to the podium!
I think Ferrari evidea should sign Hulkenberg. Toto might want to bring Bottas in to replace Rosberg in 1 to 2 years time. I'm not big on using the pitcher-doing-something-right argument against the DH. It's still pretty rare that a pitcher does something right, and it usually is pretty tedious.  But I do like the existence of something like the pitcher home run in baseball. You've sat through hours and hours of bad pitcher at-bats in your life, and you deserve a dinger like that every so often, just to remind you why stick around.
Picture this, then: You're in the worst arcade in the world. Dumb, rickety skee-ball machines. Whack-a-mole games that don't work. But the doors are locked behind you, and you have to play something. You spend 41 hours doing absolutely nothing important or exciting, playing games that aren't fun.
But you get a few tickets. couchsurfing With every game, the machines spit out a couple tickets. You could trade them in immediately for an eraser or little parachute man, or you can save them for the 40-foot stuffed kangaroo with a sign reading "Robotic Kangaroo." You know, the yeah-right prize that overlooks the whole arcade.
Except you've finally saved enough tickets. You get to redeem them for something of actual value. You've watched a lot of bad pitcher at-bats in your life, and you got to trade those tickets in for Madison couchsurfing Bumgarner hitting a long home run against Clayton Kershaw.

Friday night was kicked off the big weekend war between NRK and TV2, and both channels topped their program menus, hoping to lure as many as possible weekend viewers. Several media agencies Aftenposten was in contact with before the weekend, held a small button on TV2 in the battle for viewers.

The winner was still the new Saturday series NRK, The great journey, lifestyle where three families traveled to remote areas to live with the indigenous population. It was seen by the whole 806,000 viewers.
Last weekend put NRK major new drama commitment Sky new Norwegian drama record with over one million viewers. Just as many were not, however, who chose to watch episode three Sunday night. 911,000 viewers are still very good on a Sunday night.

He handles The Last Stand as a kind of western homage, only with modern instruments. Not everything is filmed just tastefully, but it's okay to go a little heavy on the paw in such a bow-legged and broad-shouldered film.

Really hope that this is better than Expendables (1ern has not seen 2ern yet) which I thought was incredibly disappointing, largely because it was so ass filmed that it was often impossible to see what happened. But I hear that Last Stand is filmed with good old-fashioned steadycam, so then you get perhaps the opportunity to enjoy Arnie on film again. :-) Have been a big fan of the man ever since I sat up late and saw Terminator 2 on TV when I was small.
