It was a time when "it was smoking-even inside the churches," not that the cigar is important to this story, or rather comic; would be fairer to say that it was a time when Charles Kiefer was young and Mario Quintana still marked point, "the cigarette between his lips," writing in the Correio do Povo.
The young Kiefer, or even 18 years, section found that "writing was the simplest thing in the world, pour enough about the role my emotions, my passions and my youthful delusions." Had recently published a book, his first, section one of poems, The lily of the valley, and was personally hand it to Mario Quintana in the newspaper, but the "greatest poet of the province" paid no attention.
Today one of the biggest prosistas the province (sports, amongst others, three tortoises and an Award from the National Library), with launches across the busiest, young Kiefer met not more than four parties at the signing of the Lily of the Valley Book Fair that year. The detail is that one of the bidders was Mario Quintana. The poet attended to honor the disciple, which had ignored days before, but also to offer some advice: "My son, write and publish 200 poems 20".
This story, or rather reworked, comic, given in the book to be a writer of Kiefer (2010), which proposes to reflect on short texts on his more than 25 years teaching workshops. And do not forget the advice of Quintana.
Luis Roberto section Amabile (Assis / SP, 1977) studied theater and journalism at USP. Did graduate work in Foundations of Culture and Arts at UNESP, MA in Theory of Literature / Creative Writing section at PUC, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate. She was a reporter for culture, tourism and gastronomy in the newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo and Editora Abril. Participated section in the Center for Dramatic Sesi-British Council, for which published the piece Nipple At crow. Had texts included in anthologies in Brazil, Portugal and Spain. He is the author of the storybook Love is a strange place (Crane 2012, Açorianos Prize finalist 2013).
